always wanted to learn how to do upholstery..... I search the internet for an upholstery teacher.. I found Ashlee with Tiffer's Upholstery LLC.

I meet her in person on a monday. I viewed the teaching area and signed up right on the spot. My lesson was the same week on Friday. The cost was reasonably priced... I now feel confident after, 1-lesson with Ashlee.

My project being a glider antique rocker from the 1800's.  I had previuosly started the rocker last summer. The old upholstery fabric was removed and I had started on jute webbing and the spring replacement.

I was confused on the spring replacement and spring tying. Ashlee taught me a quick technique on how to replace springs. In three hours ... I had learned how to prep for upholstery and cut fabric. I'm applying fabric to the rocker......

My rocker will be done this summer and I can findly put it in my front room.
The rocker has been in the family since, it was bought new.

I recently signed up with ashlee to have some upholstery work done. (6-dinning chairs) Not only did I just return from a weekend get away. I finaly got a chance to check all emails. Three chairs are done...... Thanks  R.W.

I meet Ashlee one day as I was shopping @ Hancock Fabrics.

She was very helpful as I was shopping for fabric to redo my cushions on my trailor. She did a fabric layout and guided me on how much fabric to purchase. Within 2-days I contracted with her to have my cushions redone.

I previously had a second chair upholstered by Ashlee at Tiffer's Upholstery. She had it done within 4-weeks. Both times in working with Ashlee, she kept me updated with progress reports and pics. Her workmanship was nothing less of professional. Ashlee knows her business very well. I will refer others to Tiffers and return to Ashlee in the future again, without hesitation should my need for any upholstering arise. Thanks Tiffer's for the great jobs, your professionalism, and your turn around times as well.

Work was very good.  There was some problem with my fabric but it actually was not the best fabric and had a problematic backing which I understood. But, it was the fabric that worked with my other furniture so I took the chance and Ashlee did a great job of matching the strange stripes & waves.  Her prices were very reasonable: she had a sale on labor which helped.  She kept us "in the loop" re how far along the job was with pictures emailed to us.  She mostly does this upolstery on the weekends because she teaches on other days, but she was worth the wait.  I would use her again.

In March 2012, I signed up with Tiffer's for an upholstery class to help me tackle an overstuffed chair. My fabric was chenille and I was reassured from the fabric store that it was workable for a newbie to the upholstery world.  Well, it wasn't.  But Ashlee persevered, guided me, stayed positive, listened, and didn't let me settle for substandard work even though that material stretched and stretched and stretched!  I did pay Ashlee to sew the cording and complete the cushion.  We worked in sweltering heat (summer time in Sacto!) and she even let me stay late during some of my classes because it was just taking longer than expected.   Along the way, I added contrasting fabric on the sides and the back of the chair.  The end result is the chair design & quality resembles a Calico Fabrics custom order piece.  My vision and Ashlee's expertise made this beautiful piece of furniture possible.  Ashlee is a skilled craftsman, friendly, hands-on and kind.  One thing I did learn is that this skill is not for the crafter - you need patience - it does not provide you instant gratification. I have not found another teacher that has inspired me to really want to continue this skill (or in my case, hobby), but Ashlee did!  Thanks Tiffer's!!!

Had some work done by Tiffer's for the holidays . The cushions in my couch were worn and in need of replacement. After, having local upholsters estimate the job. I found Tiffer's Upholstery in Sacramento . Tiffer's sister resided here and serviced me in the convience of my home.   The work was completed @ my home within 2-weeks and was ready for company @ Thanksgiving.

I paided $ 125.00 for 3-cushion replacement. The other upholstery shop estimate the job @ $ 275.00. The contract was sent through the mail. I was instructed to measure the cushions width by length, sign the contract and make full payment. Returning the original white copy through the mail including payment .
